EnviroMatters is an initiative of the Edmonton Public Schools' Facilities Services Department.  It was created in the fall of 2008 with the following purpose:

• report on past, present, and future district environmental initiatives,
• examine the environmental impact of schools and services upon their communities,
• recommend best practises to reduce environmental impacts,
• track district utility consumption and explore efficiency strategies,
• provide staff, students and community information about initiatives in our district schools,
• provide links to curricular resources,
• provide links to student activities,
• provide links to local, provincial, federal and international energy and environmental websites.
